Mid-august

Busy here at the little homestead, with harvest, canning, Marc’s sourdough and general fermenting in full swing…..the air is getting cooler at night, and homeschool planning is almost done with September right around the corner.
We still have a new batch of meat chickens arriving soon, as well as trying to get in as many fall vegetable plantings in as possible…(we said goodbye to a cucumber patch, and planted beets…..turned the spinach and arugala beds into new beds for more carrots, beets and cabbage….we like borscht here)
The pick your own tomato and pepper farm we love will be opening their fields in a couple of weeks, and apple picking is almost here!
Seems like everything going on here revolves around food! Well, it does! (Almost).
