Some pictures of our last weeks goings on….
First the pickles. Lots and lots of pickles….bread and butter (my favorite) made with both cucumbers and zucchini…
Then the pressure canning of chicken stock! I can’t believe we actually had a reason to use almost all of our 8 burners at once, but thank goodness for having 8 burners! Over 7 gallons of chicken stock, and about 7 more to go! From the bones and necks (and feet) etc of the meat chickens that were processed…..
Lots of cucumber and kale smoothies! Why? Pictures to follow…
Lots and lots of cucumbers, kale, and various zucchini and summer squash….
And the first of the medicinal herb harvesting, and the beginnings of the processing and tincturing, and drying….of oats and plantain! I am finding and learning to identify many herbs on the property, and am so excited to put them to use, and be able to harvest from the backyard…..
The baby turkeys are now old enough to free range, which they LOVE! Plus, they are adorable, wandering and cheeping all over the yard….
So, much abundance over here, in the green mountains in July!
